It's right in the center, close to local food, art, and things to do at night. I'd strongly suggest booking and getting in touch with the staff in the morning, before your visit. Don't turn up at the last minute.

Barrio Antiguo is lively on weekends, with restaurants and bars bringing the streets to life, and the hostel is right in the middle of it. It's also within walking distance of Macroplaza, Paseo Santa Lucia, and lots of other places. The hostel itself is wonderful: clean and very safe, with kind, helpful staff who are happy to answer questions. Fantastic location. I'd definitely recommend staying here, and we'll be back next time we're in Monterrey.

I ended up staying three weeks instead of the one I planned: first I hurt my leg, then I met a woman, lol. I really enjoyed the long stay. Yuri works hard to keep everyone happy and the hostel clean, and her bright personality and smile made it feel like home. There’s a full kitchen, and food and clubs are all around. Barrio Antigua is lovely, with a big shopping area just a few blocks away. As a vegan, I had plenty of options nearby, including the Govinda vegan buffet and Hare Krishna restaurant, plus Vegarum for pizza. The vegan pizza burger is a must.

There’s no shared space, and the showers could use an update. The bed was clean, the staff were friendly, and the location made it easy to walk to lots of attractions.
