Really disappointing. We paid for the most expensive room, the “Deluxe King Suite,” because the photos showed views. When we got there, construction was happening right outside the window. We hadn’t been told about it, and it wasn’t shown in the pictures. Instead of a view, we had workers right outside, constant noise, and no privacy, so we had to keep the blinds closed the whole time. The photos show the expectation versus what we got. We ended up with no views and no natural light despite paying for the priciest room. I explained the situation to the owner/manager, but she refused both a partial refund and a move to a cheaper room with the price adjusted. Those other rooms cost less because they didn’t have views. Scam.

Brayan was a really nice and helpful host, and the hotel itself was nice. The room was fancy, with a completely open shower that was great. It’s a bit far from the Centre, so a taxi is quite expensive at 200$MX.

Tatiana was a wonderful host. She gave us great information about breakfast, dinner, and bike rental, and replied right away whenever we had a question. The apartment had a lovely Boho style, and the beds were super comfortable. The provided shampoos were vegan, and we noticed the washing powder was vegan too. The cleaning lady did a great job, with the room perfectly clean every day. We had a great stay in Holbox and would definitely recommend this lovely place. We also had a red wine accident in the room, and Tatiana was very understanding and kind about it. Thanks again, Tatiana.

The rooms were spacious and nice, but this is just a cluster of private rooms, with no reception, bar, or chill area. We chose it because we thought being a little outside centro might mean less noise. It did, but getting around was much harder than expected. What should have been a short walk to the beach or a pleasant 2 km into centro turned into strenuous journeys. Flooded roads meant wading through murky water above knee height to get anywhere. The better option was to reach the beach first and follow that route into town. Otherwise, UTV taxis were expensive: $150 for four blocks and $300 to the ferry port. At night, the rising tide restricted the beach route, leaving the dark, flooded streets as the alternative. The roads got worse near the hotel. The deepest pool of water was at the main crossroads, and during my three days there a hose was actually pumping more water into it. I think a hose had broken, but nobody seemed to fix it. These conditions aren’t the hotel’s fault, but I wanted other travellers to know what the area was like. I came back with pretty cut-up feet and 14 splinters over three days. On my third day, people were trying to pump water out in centro, but nothing was being done near the hotel. Getting in and out was so difficult and taxis so costly that you couldn’t easily return during the day. I hope local hotels and residents can find a way to clear the roads and keep access routes open. The water was full of dirt, stagnant muck, rubbish, and building site materials. It felt more like Fyre Festival vibes than the premium prices Holbox enterprises ask people to pay.

The internet on the island is bad, but the WiFi here was excellent. The host was friendly, spoke English very well, and was helpful. The room looked quite new, with a nice rain shower, no shower doors, and a separate toilet behind its own door. There were bath towels and beach towels, plus hand soap, shampoo, and body cream. The AC worked well and wasn’t noisy; you could turn off its light so it didn’t bother you while sleeping. It’s in a quiet area outside the busy center, so there was less noise. A taxi from the harbour costs MX$200. The bed was just right, neither too firm nor too soft, and I had my best night so far in Mexico :)
