The apartment was in such poor shape that we checked out early after only a few nights. The sheets were filthy and the pillows had sweat stains. It was generally run down, with very dirty walls, including what looked like vomit stains on a toilet wall, and the cheapest IKEA furniture. The pool was disgusting too, with murky water, slimy spots, and lots of sand on the bottom. We asked Maytela, who was supposed to manage our stay, for clean sheets and pillows three times, but she completely ghosted us. We only got a refund for the cancelled nights after telling them we were checking out early because of the conditions. We booked the apartment through booking.com, where it was advertised as Moderno Ubicacion Vistas Seguridad y Estilo. It seems to cater mostly to students from the nearby university. Maybe they have low standards or don’t mind these conditions, and don’t care for the place, leaving it worse than they found it.

The facility itself is great, but this company will take every dollar it can. After only six months in the apartment, we had to pay to have the walls repainted. Then, after seven months of back and forth with the agency, we only got part of our security deposit back. Very unprofessional. Support local and find an apartment owned by a nice family in the city. Stay away from these conglomerates.

There’s plenty to see and do around Monterrey, and this is a beautiful, clean facility with good amenities. Highly recommend it.

The place really is beautiful and well located, but the last six months have been completely disappointing. The building apparently can shut down amenities whenever it wants because they aren’t part of your contract. The closures during the first months of the pandemic were understandable, but other buildings have since reopened at least common areas and pools with restrictions. Gran Ciudad still hasn’t done anything. They don’t communicate well about whether they’re working on it, ignore emails, and make promises that don’t seem to be true. After three months, it gets exhausting, especially when the rent stays the same while all the amenities are closed. You end up paying a lot for a small apartment with no amenities. Great idea, Gran Ciudad, that’s quite a way to make money. My windows face a common area, and I see them bring about 10 people a day to show off the amenities. What for, if they’re going to become disappointed and dissatisfied clients? Good luck, Gran Ciudad. There’s also the maintenance team, which comes whenever it wants even though you asked for a specific time a couple of days earlier. I could go on, but that gives you the idea. Very disappointing, not recommended at all. Be aware.

Living in Gran Ciudad is really convenient. There’s a Superama and several bank branches downstairs, plus a movie theater and lots of restaurants right at your door. The gym is practical, the pool is okay, and the best part is that it’s pet friendly! Not many apartments in Monterrey are like that :D
