The hotel was okay for the price, about $45 a night after booking, thanks to the favorable exchange rate. It’s clean and the staff were fine, though the fixtures are old and awkward to use. My safe didn’t work. There’s a mini-fridge, shampoo and soap, and about 50 TV channels, with a few in English. The bed was somewhat comfortable, but the pillows were too soft. The window lets light in since the curtain isn’t blackout. Breakfast is included, but I didn’t try it. I think it was just fruit, a piece of bread, and a drink, not a buffet, and the restaurant space is also open to the public. It’s downtown, with the metro and Macroplaza both an easy walk away. The neighborhood isn’t especially clean or pleasant. Between 10am and 6pm it’s crowded, sometimes making the sidewalk hard to navigate. Most places seem to close around 8pm, and the streets empty out. After dark, some streets felt almost creepy because there were so few people. Nothing happened to me, but I tried to stay in after dark. When I did go out, I went to the 7-11 two blocks away and stayed aware of who was around.
