Casa Jose Maria Hotel

The staff were wonderful, and breakfast was good for a reasonable price. It’s a short walk to the center, which worked well for my brief stop in town. The room was a good size, with a comfortable large bed and a bathroom with hot water. It was clean and homey, though there are no windows, just a glass door onto the internal patio. WiFi was weak in my room. A simple, no-frills place.

I’m here on a business trip, and this is my second stay. The first time was fine, but this time I was put in Colibrí, right by reception and the entrance, with a window onto the street. It’s almost 11 pm and I can still hear reception, passing motorcycles, and people opening the gate. I asked at reception whether it would be noisy and was told no. I told them about the noise, but they said they couldn’t do anything. I can’t get any rest, and this kind of service isn’t acceptable.

The location is handy for the historic center, just a few blocks away, and it’s far enough from the bars and nightlife that the hotel stays quiet at night. The place itself is charming and stylish, clean, and the staff are kind and helpful. The food is tasty and affordable too.

A simple, clean vintage hotel, about three blocks from the main center and easy to reach on foot. Worth staying here.
