Hotel Morelia Boutique Villa Italia

We couldn't sleep until after 2 a.m. The party in the courtyard just outside our room had loud music, laughter, and shouting the whole time. Nobody had told us about the event when we booked or checked in. The first time we complained, we were told it would finish at midnight, but we called reception several more times after that and it was still going. Worst night ever. I have no desire to come back.

The garden is beautiful, and having breakfast on the patio is hard to resist. I stayed three days and nights, and my first good impression lasted right through to the end. It's welcoming, with a romantic feel, like an “Italian fantasy” in Morelia. The service, facilities, and restaurant were all lovely. Scheduling meant I ate all my breakfasts, lunches, and dinners there, and I don't regret it. The varied menu is conventional and naturally focused on Italian food, so it's not the place for typical Morelia cuisine. The pool area is pleasant and comfortable, though perhaps not ideal for little kids. There's also a comfortable library space for reading or studying. I included some of the many photos I took of the place and a few meals I ordered.

Even in just one night, the service stood out, from valet parking to the cleaning staff. The room was spotless and completely quiet. The food was outstanding, the desserts delicious, and the waiters very well trained.

The rooms are really noisy, and there don't seem to be any rules about noise. The receptionist was elitist and mean, literally.
