Hotel Boutique Maria

A few blocks from Centro Historico and the restaurants, this was a great base for our five nights. Our room had a TV, AC, fridge, and microwave, and was clean and spacious. The bathroom was clean and nice too. Everyone on staff was friendly. One evening we got caught in the rain while walking around the city, and as soon as we reached the hotel entrance they offered us a towel. Such a kind gesture. We loved our stay and would definitely come back.

We had seven rooms for my whole family, and when the shared parking lot was full, nobody at the hotel took responsibility or tried to help. We got a parking ticket and had to appear in court just to find out what the parking fee was. Four hours later, the hotel still hadn't acknowledged what they'd put us through or apologized. At checkout, we got sarcasm on top of it all. They don't offer parking. Never again.

If you're traveling by car, don't stay here. The hotel directed us to a garage down the street, saying it was free, but my family ended up with parking tickets. Neither the hotel nor the garage accepted responsibility, and the staff were rude when we checked out.

Breakfast comes with the room price, and I especially recommend ordering from the menu. I loved the Chilaquiles Negra, a great way to start the day. The hotel is well organized, with air conditioning, clean sheets and towels, and well-trained staff. It's only about three or four blocks from centro. I recommend staying here.
