Fiesta Inn Express Naucalpan

The location made this a poor choice for us as tourists. The hotel looks out over several major roads, there are no restaurants nearby, and we were repeatedly warned against walking around alone or at night. Walmart is about a 10-15 minute walk away, though you need to stay aware of your surroundings. We were part of a large group booked for two weeks, and most people left early because the hotel didn't feel worth the money and they disliked the area. Getting checked in was frustrating: three people at reception were chatting with each other instead of helping us. Our room was large, but there was no fridge or kettle, and the bathroom had no sink or mirror. The sink was in the bedroom, just inside the entrance. The shower handle came off the first time we used it. Breakfast cost $25 USD, far too much for what was offered. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant twice, and both meals were expensive and below a good standard.

The standard rooms are really spacious, and the gym is surprisingly good for a smaller hotel. Breakfast was great, the staff were great too, and there’s Starbucks coffee at the bar. I had to take an Uber into Mexico City every day, but that was fine. Really nice hotel for the price.

The inside is comfortable, but the noise outside never lets up. The hotel is surrounded by huge highways, so you can't block it out. I’m surprised the other reviews barely mention it. If I’d known, I never would’ve stayed. A nightmare!

The hotel has basic security in place, including a guard at the parking entrance, CCTV, and card access to the floors, so executives can stay securely for one night. It also feels like it has lost the family touch. There’s none of the corporate atmosphere, and employees don't show basic empathy when guests ask for help with things outside the hotel, like directions to nearby places or how to get on Periferico toward Polanco.
