Real Inn Nuevo Laredo

I was in a decent mood, but the pool situation and towel request made this a poor customer service experience. I'd already been staying for two days when I asked about the pool, and it wasn't ready until 3 o'clock on the second day. When I asked for towels, they said they needed my ID. I offered to leave it with my room key, but they still wouldn't accept that.

The location is great, with lots of restaurants and stores nearby, but the hotel looks more outdated in person than the pictures suggest. The walls are paper thin, too. In our first room, the A/C dripped so much that it left a puddle on the carpet. Maintenance came up, but we waited over an hour and couldn't get settled in. We called the front desk to ask for another room, but weren't moved until the maintenance worker requested it for us. The new room was good, though we then found the Wi-Fi didn't reach the upper floors. The front desk sent the same poor guy from maintenance to help. The front desk staff and maintenance worker did their best. These problems seem to come from hotel management and the way the place is set up. The stay didn't live up to the advertised level of updating and functionality. It's just okay.

They provide water, which was nice, and everything else was good. The lobby A/C wasn't very strong, though it wasn't too bad. Our room was extremely hot when we checked in because its A/C was off, but it cooled down after about 30 minutes. There's a gym, but it has no A/C. Can't complain.

The restaurant was good, and the A/C in my room worked great. The room itself was spacious but uncomfortable, not clean, and smelled bad. They don't turn on the lobby air conditioning, so it was hot and dusty there. I had a bad experience overall.
