Barceló Huatulco - All Inclusive

The hotel is a little old, and the beach wasn’t accessible while I was there. Still, I had a good time because the staff made it worthwhile. Song trivia and volleyball were a lot of fun, and water aerobics was great too. The staff were amazing!

We liked that this resort was on the smaller side for Mexico. The pool and beach never felt crowded, and the buffet food was quite good. The kids’ play area by the pool was a hit, and the beach was clean and lovely for walks and playing. A wonderful option for a relaxing family vacation.

I was unsure about booking because I’m health-conscious, follow a specific diet, like to exercise, and care a lot about sleep. In the end, those concerns didn’t become problems. The gym was fine, the pickleball courts were great, and the entertainment schedule got me moving. Hailey was a fantastic host for beach volleyball. Gloria and Jose were genuinely kind and helped with a special diet request. The food was delicious overall, though there were definitely more meat choices than vegan ones. I slept well too. It was quiet and peaceful, the bed was comfortable, and the AC worked properly. The pool party was the highlight. Leo, Alejandra, and Marla put on an epic foam party. I host a lot of parties and people call me the party scientist, so I wasn’t sure many would join in, but around 50 people got in the foam, dancing and floating. Everyone was smiling, laughing, and singing. Such a fun atmosphere. I also enjoyed dancing at the cantina after dinner. The hotel is peaceful and relaxed, with the option of loud, fun energy when you want it.

Our room’s bathroom needs some work: the tap is broken, the shower doesn’t work properly, and the toilet doesn’t flush right. The buffet has been excellent, though, and the animation team has been wonderful with lots of fun activities by the pool. Israel was awesome, even if he quit our volleyball team when we were losing. ;) We forgive you, since you made the day so much fun!
