The location is hard to beat, right beside El Zócalo, and getting into the room with a code was really easy. There’s no breakfast, though there’s a fancy brunch spot across the street. The price was lower than similar places, so I thought it offered very good value and would absolutely recommend it. The beds were great, the rooms spacious, and the TV huge. Service was quick and efficient, which seems like an improvement based on earlier negative reviews. The toilet flush wasn’t especially strong and the shower pressure could be better, but both were still okay.

Ana was wonderful and helped us with everything we needed. My husband had an emergency, and she came out at 6am to help us. We felt like family, and she did all she could to accommodate us. Thank you so much, Ana, we really appreciate it. The hotel is in the historic centre, about two minutes from the cathedral and close to everything else. Our room was spacious and modern, with a king bed, and the blinds made it completely dark for sleeping. The place was clean and nicely kept.

We had a room at the back, which was comfortable and quiet. The bed was good, the room a decent size, and the service friendly. It’s a few blocks from the zocalo and other centro spots, close enough to walk but far enough to avoid much noise. There’s no breakfast, but plenty of great cafes and restaurants nearby. I’d stay here again.

The room by the window was really noisy, and the A/C never cooled enough. The bed made noise and was uncomfortable, as were the pillows, so I wouldn’t stay here for more than two nights. We also left the “don't come in” sign up, but cleaning staff entered every day and moved our things, including unplugging chargers and touching bags. There wasn’t enough shampoo or other toiletries either. I’d pick another place in Oaxaca.

I’ve never written a review before, and I work in service, so I usually assume reviews come from unhappy people. This happened to us, though. We told the host and the room cleaner that we’d only be there a few days and didn’t want anyone entering to clean. We put the “Do not clean our room” sign up whenever we went out, and followed the recommendation to lock our money and passports in the safe. On our last night, the cleaner came in anyway, saying she was replacing toilet paper, which we didn’t need and would have asked for if we did. That night was also the only one when we were overrun with mosquitos, possibly because she left the door open. Worse, my silver necklace was gone. It was tucked in a small red bag, inside a larger blue one, in a hidden backpack pocket. We searched every nook and cranny of all our things. It was an antique Native American silver piece my mother bought for me on a trip we took together. It cost $300, but the real loss is that it can’t be replaced. I know people may think I misplaced it, but I didn’t. I texted the host when I noticed it missing as we packed to leave the next day. She said she’d ask the cleaner, who confirmed she’d entered despite our request. The host was very sorry, but that was all. She didn’t offer to pay for it. Even $300 wouldn’t replace something irreplaceable, but an offer would have meant something.
