Hotel Oaxaca Inn Reforma

There’s plenty to eat nearby, from taco spots and seafood to Italian places, fonditas, Irish pubs, sports bars, and lots of Tlayuda places. I love those. You’ve also got three OXXO stores close by, plus hospitals, a gas station, and a drugstore. The neighborhood seemed safe to me. The hotel itself is basic, but fairly well kept, and the rooms have useful touches like a proper chair, a little table, working closet doors, air conditioning, bright lighting, a big TV, and decent Wi-Fi. They’re tiny, though, and there’s no complimentary coffee. The bathroom window faces the hallway, so you might end up greeting people passing by while you’re using it. The parking entrance stays shut at night and is opened remotely. If you arrive late, you need to get out and use the intercom. There’s no guard, and you have to remember to close the pedestrian gate behind you. Check-in was quick, but our request to extend the stay got lost between shifts. The afternoon staff couldn’t change the booking and were meant to leave a note for the morning team. The front desk lady knew nothing about it, so we ended up going to another hotel. The building seems better maintained than some places where owners let things slide, but the staff let it down.

The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help. The rooms were clean in a very basic way, though.

Nice spot, but the room wasn’t very clean and we ran out of hot water.
