The food was exquisite, and I wish we'd had more time to stay. Everyone on the team was amazing, from the chefs and servers to the cleaners, security, and reception crew. Alejandro at the bar deserves a mention too. They all did what they could to make our stay and experience the best possible.

There aren't many Gringos around this area, which gave me the Oaxaca vibe I was looking for, and the street food was great. It's a safe place, within walking distance of many areas. The hotel is dated but clean, and the staff were helpful. You can book tours in the lobby.

You can arrange return shuttle trips to Monte Alban from the lobby. The service was great.

It's in a good location, and we had a good stay overall. The rooms were great, though the shower pressure was low and there was just one outlet in the room.

Hotel Riviera del Ángel is a big, fancy place that's mostly hidden from view, with plenty of parking inside the fort. The building looks fairly modern from outside. I think there was a huge satellite dish on the roof, but I could be remembering wrong. It might mean Rivera del Ángel offers, or used to offer, satellite TV to guests, though the dish could also belong to one of the many businesses nearby.
