There was no housekeeping during our five-night stay, and nobody left instructions for dealing with the overflowing rubbish. The room was still being cleaned at 3 pm, the stated check-in time. The kitchen sink flooded, and my husband had to repair it himself. We were given only one eye mask and one pair of earplugs for the two of us, and they were essential because the blinds didn't fit the windows and noise and music from bars and restaurants below went on until midnight. On the third night, the keypad on the door to room 203 stopped working. While we waited for the concierge to call a locksmith, they reported to management that the actual Yale key lock mechanism had been removed. The locksmith got into our apartment with just a screwdriver, and the lock wasn't fixed during our stay. Then, three weeks after we got home, I found they had taken an extra £75 from my account for a policy violation that we hadn't committed. I could provide evidence, but they still refused to help. Don't stay here. Mexico City has plenty of great options, so don't risk having your trip ruined like ours.
The view of the Cibeles fountain and the city could have been a real highlight, but dirty water from the restaurant's deck above poured onto my balcony on Sunday morning. Its windows were filthy too, and I could have been soaked if I’d been outside. I rented this 11th-floor studio from Wynwood House through VRBO. The apartment was well appointed and the location was great, but it sits just below a very loud restaurant. From Wednesday through Saturday, the music went on past midnight, so there was no chance of sleeping before 1 a.m. four nights a week. I’d recommend the apartment itself if not for the restaurant upstairs. Caveat emptor.
We felt unsafe enough to leave halfway through our stay and book another place at the last minute. We’d booked a Wynwood Airbnb unit in this building, and 1,000 pesos plus 200 US dollars went missing from our two wallets inside the property. We hadn’t taken the wallets out after arriving, so we believe someone with the door code got in. We told the host right away. They said they’d investigate and get back with a solution, but after we waited two weeks, they said the access logs showed nothing and that they trusted their staff. It felt like they were calling us liars. We lost $250 in cash, paid extra for last-minute housing, and got no explanation or compensation, only an insult. There was also no body wash and not enough toilet paper. Worst experience ever. I can’t believe a big company like Wynwood would treat customers this way.
The building's architecture and finishes are beautiful, and the location is amazing. Such lovely mornings there.
I couldn't get into the flat, even though I had paid the amount through booking com. They claimed I hadn't confirmed a link they sent from an external source. I was scammed, so I'd warn people against booking accommodation this way.
