Hotel Parador de Alcalá Oaxaca

The staff were super kind and friendly, and everything was clean. We especially loved the quiet rooftop patio and little pool, a peaceful spot to unwind after busy days. It’s well placed for the big markets and cultural sights, and breakfast was excellent and plentiful, with delicious local Oaxaca coffee. I’d give them ten stars if I could!

The Superior Suite felt cozy, though it was on the small side, while the Junior Suite had loads of room. Its TV seemed too small to watch comfortably from the bed. Breakfast was decent and got the day started, but wasn’t a highlight. The lighting could use an adjustment, too. Changing the bulb tone would help the room feel warmer. The service was a real strength. Front desk staff were attentive and efficient, and they handled our departure smoothly, arranging taxis and having the bellmen collect our bags right on time. The beds were comfortable, with good quality bedding. When the sink needed attention, it was fixed quickly and quietly while we were out. The hotel was comfortable and the hospitality reliable, so it’s a good choice for a stay.

We didn’t stay at the hotel, but paid to spend an afternoon using the rooftop and pool. The pool is tiny, though the price was very reasonable, and we enjoyed some delicious food and drinks. Our server was lovely and so friendly. We’d have gone back for another pool day if we’d stayed longer.

The breakfast was top notch, and the service was impeccable. Everything was within a short walk, and the facilities were beautifully kept. We’ll stay here again when we’re back in Oaxaca.
