The rooms are clean and the place is well kept. The noise is the real issue: there are incredibly loud dogs barking next door, and it’s by a busy street. Even earplugs didn’t make it quiet. If you’re a heavy sleeper, you’ll be fine. It’s fairly close to downtown and feels safe. The noise has nothing to do with the owners.
For a long stay in Oaxaca, I think this is the best value in the city. It’s basically an American-style motel, with suites and a shared kitchen area, and the owner is friendly and quick to respond if there’s an issue. I enjoyed the enclosed courtyard and roof terrace, and it’s only a 15-minute walk to the Zócalo. Some things could be better, like the showers not having enough hot water and the gap under the doors letting ants in, but it feels like a bit of an oasis for solo travelers on a budget.
A really disappointing stay. The bed linen and towels were dirty, the room felt stuffy, and the staff weren’t very welcoming.
It’s in a quiet part of town and well placed for getting around. The owners are really friendly too. We had a great time here.

The shared kitchen, terrace, and outdoor dining area are well equipped, and everything was clean and cared for. My private room was furnished and had its own bathroom, and the WiFi stayed fast and steady while I worked. It’s in Barrio La Noria, about a 15-minute walk from the Centro Histórico. A comfortable, quiet base in the city, especially if you’re a digital nomad or just want a pleasant place to stay.
