Hotel Nututun Palenque

If I could give it no stars, I would. We paid a lot hoping to enjoy our stay, but the staff complained about everything. I even heard them complaining in Spanish about the guests, apparently not realizing that we speak Spanish. Never again.

The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained, with several buildings and different rental options for different needs. They also host group events, including banquets and wedding receptions. My room was cozy and quiet, with nice linen, a comfortable bed, a working TV and AC, and an in-room safe. It was really nice and very affordable. I stepped outside and was right beside the beautiful pool and a bar. Check-in was easy because I’d made the reservation on my phone in advance. The staff were welcoming, polite, and professional. The restaurant was remarkable, with excellent wait staff, a beautiful setting above the river, and great Mexican food. I really enjoyed my meal. I’d definitely recommend Nututun Palenque.

This review is only about the RV Park, not the hotel. There are roughly a dozen spaces for small to medium RVs around gravel parking areas. There’s just one water faucet and one dump station, and hotel guests or staff often block them with their parking. The WiFi is very unreliable. The restaurant is okay and the swimming pool is nice.

The restaurant, Don Manuel, is excellent and reasonably priced, and there’s a beautiful river and waterfall just below it. It’s a lovely spot for a swim or simply enjoying the view. The hotel sits on the edge of the jungle, where twice a day you can hear and see howling monkeys in the treetops. We booked two nights and stayed for three. We visited the breathtaking archaeological sites. A must-see if you have the chance!
