Rancho Las Cruces Baja California Sur

Rancho Las Cruces felt like a rare, peaceful place, and I’ll never forget the trip. I rated it five stars, though I’d happily have given more if Google allowed. The pool, grounds, and every part of this magical resort blew me away. There’s a deep history here, with stories about the many distinctive guests that you can hear during your stay. Our beachfront casita was just right: very clean and well cared for, with solid WiFi, a comfortable bed, luxury linens, down comforters and pillows. There was a small living room with couches facing the ocean, a large bathroom, a private back porch, and an ocean-facing patio. We arrived just after lunch service, but they asked us to come back in 15 minutes and served us then. We chose a table that stayed ours throughout the visit. The tables had crisp linens, cloth napkins, and quality flatware. Every restaurant meal was outstanding, from the selection and food quality to the table service. We had the resort almost to ourselves, apart from one other family, and became friends with them. They’d been coming to the Rancho for over 40 years and had brought three generations of family there. The staff who greeted us were kind, attentive, and very professional. They shared a brief history of the resort, grounds, beaches, and amenities included in our stay. The drive down Baja to La Paz, BCS, was easy, followed by a short drive to the Rancho. At the modest guarded entrance, I knew little about Rancho Las Cruces, but felt an adventure was ahead. We were escorted through the desert along a very dusty Mexican road, beside the Playa, and out to the resort. I live in Loreto, BCS, and have explored many beautiful beaches across Baja and mainland Mexico. I could tell this was a special place. I already had a wonderful life in Loreto, and a friend had invited me to stay at the Rancho. In Español, La Paz is often translated as “the peace” in English. Rancho Las Cruces is one of the most peaceful and magical places you’ll ever visit.
