The palapas are a lovely place to relax in a hammock, and the rooms are comfortable. The staff are friendly and ready to help. Boats come by for trips through the mangroves and around the birds and scenic corners of the beach and reserve, so it's easy to take in Chocohuital's natural beauty with family or friends. It feels like an important, beautiful, accessible spot for supporting conservation of these natural wonders. I loved seeing the Martinique Bird Festival celebrations. There was so much color and regional flavor, with folk groups sharing local dances, music, rhythms, and food. The dances inspired by nature were especially picturesque, one about birds and another about turtles.
