We were sad to leave after two nights. The domes felt cozy and cool, with a kind of “in a galaxy far far away” vibe. We also loved the community kitchen, where we could make breakfast and chat a bit with other guests. We visited the cenote down the road, one of the biggest and most interesting we’ve seen so far, and had a ceremony in the beautiful round palapa. Ozwaldo, his family, and the staff made us feel welcome and cared for. We’re glad they created this comfortable, sustainably minded jungle retreat. Having a car was a big plus, though the colectivo is doable if you’re okay with it. Bring food to cook for lunch and dinner.

The local cenote exceeded all our expectations, and we had a wonderful stay at Nahku. Ozwaldo is great, and his knowledge of building with unusual materials has helped create a beautiful oasis in the jungle. It’s secluded and a little way outside town, so you’ll want transportation. We rented a scooter and enjoyed our time there immensely. We plan to stay again on our next visit to Tulum.
