The noise made it impossible for us to sleep, so we ended up finding another hotel at the last minute. We had a busy day ahead and just needed some rest. We’d booked Wednesday through Saturday, but the listing’s warning about “some noise” didn’t prepare us for this. I’m used to loud cities, with traffic, horns, people and ambulances, but this felt like standing in the smoking area of a nightclub. The hotel is in the middle of town, wedged between two very loud clubs, and there’s almost no soundproofing. We asked reception if there was another room. They kindly let us try one, but it was even worse. In the morning, well before the 12:20 pm checkout, we returned to pack and explain why we didn’t want to stay. We asked for a refund for the two nights we’d be missing. Staff asked for our bank details, and because of translation issues we spent quite a while giving them everything. Then they said there would be no refund, despite the promises we’d been given. The no-refund policy apparently still applied. There was no hot water, towels, soap or drinking water, and the WiFi was unusable. Given all that and the noise, I don’t think asking for our money back was unreasonable. It felt very shady. Please, please, please avoid this place if you value your sanity.
