Catalonia Riviera Maya Resort and Spa All Inclusive

We never had a disappointing meal at beloved. Alfonso served us twice and was kind, considerate, and quick, and the food was wonderful. The salmon was amazing, and the sweet breads at breakfast were a lovely touch. Everyone else on staff was just as good. Omar was a pleasant, professional host who paid attention to what we needed, and Algeria Eric and Rosie were wonderful with the services. I'd definitely recommend stopping by the spa during your stay.

Daniel and Rosa made dinner feel special from the moment we sat down. Daniel was warm and easy to talk to, and the dishes he cooked were excellent, with so much care and skill in them. He's a real gem, and we'll be back because of him. If you get the chance to have him cook for you, you're in for a treat. Felipe is the best!!!

The resort's activities were a highlight for us, and Gaby and the entertainment crew kept each day fun. I loved her energy, and it was lovely getting to know her. Ivan at the concierge desk was helpful with ideas for places to explore around the property. We also met Brenda at the Exclusive Club desk and plan to look into that more when we get home. At the bar, Hector and Samuel had us laughing. Ivan was also wonderful as our server at the Mexican Restaurant Adelita. Tonight Keila looked after us at Steakville, where the food and service were great and the atmosphere was just right. Such a lovely stay, and we hope to come back and see the people we met again. The cleaning was good, but the rest of our stay was frustrating. We had booked adjoining rooms well ahead for our family of five, yet they put us at opposite ends of the same floor. One room then had a problem, so at 7 pm we had to move even farther from the family, and my king bed became a queen. While I was in customer service, I overheard another woman say she had booked rooms near her 81-year-old mother and they were separated too. She also mentioned roaches. Dinner plans were another headache. For a five-night stay, we could book only two restaurant nights, and the only options available were Ayumi and the burger place. The front desk said we could book just two restaurants at once. At the service center, we were told those were our only two nights, but also that less busy restaurants might take us without a reservation. We tried the steakhouse at 6 pm when it was empty, and were still turned away unless someone cancelled. That left the two buffets, with the same food and a poor selection. We were told we had room service, given a menu when we called, then told we weren't entitled to it when we tried to order. An hour later, someone called to ask if we wanted food service. The resort bars barely seemed to have alcohol in the drinks. That's about all I can say. The cleaning service was good.
