I liked the place and its location, but be careful with Absolon and your money. He kept my deposit for ridiculous reasons and overcharged me for electricity at the end of my stay. When something goes wrong, there’s no one around to help, and he doesn’t reply to messages. At first he acts like a friend who wants to help, but my experience was different. I felt he was taking advantage of tourists who don’t know better.

After I checked out, the hotel charged my card through a third party for the accommodation, adding a $7 commission. I was annoyed, but accepted it. When I emailed to say the amount differed from what I’d booked on booking.com, they replied, “we are not a charity, if you stay at a hotel, you must pay for”. Now that same third party has charged me over $700. I don’t trust this hotel at all. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I’d booked through booking.com and assumed payment had been taken because I’d provided my card details. When I arrived, they couldn’t find my booking, though I showed them the reservation and checked in anyway.

We arrived at a bad time, with the delta hurricane, and really thought we were in a dangerous situation. The owner, Memo, made sure we were safe, and all the staff were there looking after our whole family. I can’t thank them enough. The place is beautiful inside and out, the prices are amazing, and we were only two blocks from the beach. The local restaurants are great too. Five stars from me.
