Hotel Casa Mora

This is no longer a hotel. It should be described as a residence or apartment building. Management is awful: they say one thing to get you to sign a contract, then change the rules. Water, for example, was included when we signed and later became a mandatory charge. The pool wasn't maintained more than half the time. Door codes were often changed, and there were power and water cutoffs, low water pressure, and internet trouble. The administrator, Vanessa, is irresponsible at best. If you're considering a lease, make sure you understand exactly what you're signing. They'll try to get as much money from you as they can. Also, by law, residents aren't required to pay rent in cash.

I planned to stay a week and ended up there for over a month. Really nice place, and the staff were wonderful. Sofia was a pleasure to deal with, and I left feeling like family. Casa Mora is my new home base in playa, and I can't wait to return. I'd give it 6 stars.

The rooftop pool is nice, and the suites are modern and comfortable. It's 100 m from 5th avenue, the main street in town, and about 20 minutes from the beach.

The stairwell could use better lighting, and the internet is really poor.
