For the price, it’s a pretty decent hotel, and there was very little noise inside the room, which was nice for this part of town. The air conditioning definitely wasn’t working. I wasn’t sure if the room was supposed to have AC and thought I’d check my booking when I got home. Edit: the rooms are supposed to have AC. When I reported the problem, the front desk person told me the hotel doesn’t have AC. I thought I’d made a booking mistake, but I hadn’t.

Great rooms, staff, price, and location. There are local restaurants right across the street, and the shopping strip and beach are walkable. Ian was really kind and helped me find a taxi at a fair price, since the taxis waiting there overcharge. I’ll stay at Hotel Nina again next time I’m back in Playa del Carmen. Thank you for an incredible stay!

This place may suit you if your expectations are basic. The towels are torn, the TV doesn’t work, and they gave us single beds even though we asked for a larger one. Also, the gym is about 8 blocks from the property.

It’s an okay place for a night or two, close to the beach, 5th Avenue, and the main town. The rooms are basic, or a bit better, and have AC. At night, music from nearby clubs carries on until 2am, then dogs bark and birds call as early as 4am. Earplugs recommended! Paid parking is available from 10a to 10p. Pay when you check in during those hours, or transit will immobilize your car. Parking is free from 10p to 10a.

We had a one-night reservation, but when we arrived they said the hotel was overbooked and offered to move us to another hotel. Both places were shitholes, needless to say. Why didn’t they call before we got there? It would have saved us the hassle of hauling luggage back and forth in taxis.
