The Boat 308 2 Bedroom Condo by Redawning

Loved this building and where it is! It was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, close to the beach and fifth, but away from the party scene. A perfect base for a few days, a week, or a longer stay in Playa. My coffee picks: Quadra, Fifty Brunch, Ressio. For brunch: Quadra, Fifty Brunch, Ojo de Agua. For dinner: El Fogon, Sabrina Pizza, which has 50% off on Fridays, and neon buck, vegan and delicious even if you’re not vegan. Follow @ovc.travels for Playa info. Pumped to visit again! The building is lovely and the views are beautiful, but the neighbors and neighborhood can get pretty loud, which is a problem if you need sleep. Location-wise, it’s hard to ask for more, with shops, food, and beaches all an easy walk away.

The front desk people are nice, but I’d avoid booking through a third party. My bedroom AC wasn’t working, and Airbnb gave me a full refund. Getting there was a hassle because Mati refused to cancel my booking, even though I’d made it less than an hour before check-in. The place was untouched, so the cancellation caused him no potential loss. He came across as a greedy host who wouldn’t acknowledge the apartment’s problems. Shameful.

The lobby and staff are great, and the units have plenty of space. The facilities are adequate, with a gym and pool deck. The pool is short, so it’s mainly for taking a dip rather than swimming laps.
