Excellence Playa Mujeres - Adults Only All Inclusive

The service made our honeymoon. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel special all week, from Freddy handling our bags to Maria at the lobster house and Carlos at the french place. Isabelle at breakfast was a trainee, but by the end she felt like an old friend. The food was great, and we loved the room so much we might use it as inspiration for our new bathroom. My wife and I couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. Well worth the money, even though we don't drink. Thank you, Excellence Playa Mujeres!

We’d happily come back. The grounds are beautiful, the food is delicious, and the evening entertainment was a lot of fun. Sit near the front if you want to join in the shows. Katia, Kevin and Natalia made the daily activities fun, and Aldo on the Excellence Club Beach was especially friendly and helpful. Our Excellence Club junior suite ocean view felt more like a partial view, but we still loved it. The walk-in closet, large sitting area and balcony got plenty of use.

Service was five-star throughout, friendly and helpful without ever feeling intrusive. We wanted a low-key, relaxing getaway and got just that. The room in Building 7 was clean, comfortable and well-appointed, and the private terrace, plunge pool and ocean view were highlights. We stayed in 7418 at the end of the building. A hallway ran past our balcony, and people regularly stopped there to take photos, which felt awkward while we were outside. The jacuzzi window faced that hallway too, so using it was difficult. I suspect our location also funneled the evening music from Prelude Bar up to the room at full volume. If you turn in early, ask for somewhere farther from the live music. The Excellence Club upgrade felt worthwhile. Magna, which is club-exclusive, was easily our best meal. The steaks at The Grill were very good, though it gets loud inside. Lobster House was a nice lunch stop, especially for the fish tacos. Chez Isabelle was a letdown because our food came cold and lacked flavor. Breakfast room service was consistently excellent, whether we ate on the balcony or took it up to the terrace. The bars were good, too. We brought insulated cups to keep drinks cold longer, and I’d recommend that. The mangolada and Cielo's pink gin cocktail were favorites. One disappointment was that the hot tubs weren't heated, even though it was a little cooler than usual for that time of year. Other guests noticed it too.

The beach is wide, white, and beautiful, and we love the quiet, lovely feel of Building eight. The food was a real surprise for an all-inclusive: each restaurant had special dishes prepared by the chefs, and the staff made sure our needs were met. At the Excellence Club pool, Sully, Edgar, Diana and Fernando kept us happy and hydrated. We’ve been here three times and have brought friends along. We had a terrific time and will be back. Excellence does it again!
