The beach was lovely, with clean fine sand, and the locals we met were very friendly. The place was clean, spacious and inexpensive, about a 7 minute walk from the beach. It's not really a tourist area, and I'd say it suits young people on a budget more than anyone looking for a resort. You'll need to bring blankets and all your food, including spices, salt and pepper, plus dish soap and hand soap. The rooms are large, though the washroom and shower are small. We didn't have hot water, just tepid water, which may be a cultural issue; we're from Canada and expect it hot. Water pressure was great. We stayed on the ground floor of the four-level building. Outdoor noise was usually okay, though there was some from the ferry and activities at a nearby holiday resort. The kitchen is a good size, with a large fridge and separate freezer, and the living room has a flat screen TV with a Roku device. Our hosts responded quickly and were attentive when we had questions. If you're looking for a resort, you'd be better off going to one.

A quiet spot near the beach, with clean facilities, fresh drinking water, a pool and a nice hammock area. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, stove and oven. There are a couple of food stalls nearby, and the nearby resort is another option if you're willing to spend more. You'll need to drive a bit for groceries since there isn't much around. The owner was super friendly. He showed us around, helped arrange a taxi to the airport and exchanged our money so we could get the best deal. A good choice if you're taking the ferry.

The bed was one of the comfiest I've ever slept in, and the hosts were so friendly and helpful. It's a cute place with a pretty pool and seating area, very close to the ferry. There's basically nothing around, though; the closest restaurants are in downtown Cancun, too far to walk. I only took off a star because the microwave was so dirty that I couldn't use it. Hopefully that's fixed by the time I return.

We had lots of fun nights with the other visitors and will definitely come back. The hostel is clean, comfortable and safe, with cameras and ventilators. It's very close to the beach and the ferry to Isla mujeres, and there's a gas station nearby that's open late and not expensive. The owners are really friendly and help with anything you need, and more. Thank you! :)

Basil and Brenda were so sweet and helpful with everything. The place is simple and basic, but has a gorgeous little pool and sits close to the beach and ferry to Isla mujeres. I'd recommend booking a private room.
