Hotel Boutique Camino del Bosque by Rotamundos

It’s peaceful here, close to a park with views of Popo and Malinche. The hotel feels like an oasis away from the bustle of Puebla/Cholula, but it’s still convenient to get around. We walked into Cholula in 40 minutes and called an Uber easily when needed, it took about 5 minutes. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms spacious, and the staff friendly.

The staff, including Roy the chef and the ladies who maintain the rooms and grounds, are among the best. Roy’s English is probably better than ours. There’s a coffee machine in the room, plus filter coffee and very hot water. The room and the whole place smell divine, with no sewage or other bad smell, and the water doesn’t smell off. We didn’t find any humidity or faults in the rooms. My wife and I spent three nights at hotel Camino del Bosque and have only the best memories. The rooms are modernly decorated and the cleanest we saw during our three-month trip in Mexico. The space is very well maintained and peaceful, full of colibris and wildlife, and far from the city’s madness. An OXXO and Pharmacia Guadalajara are very close, so distance isn’t a concern. Uber is available 24/7 and costs around 60 pesos to Cholula’s centre. I can’t recommend Camino enough for a Puebla holiday. Thank you!

The rooms and garden are really nice and clean, but this stay was a disappointment. We wanted a somewhat luxurious break, and it didn’t meet our expectations. The staff weren’t very hospitable, and communication was poor. None of my messages got a reply. We booked for the garden, but a huge party with loud music went on there until after midnight, so we couldn’t relax. They kindly offered to move us to another hotel, and we accepted, but it wasn’t as nice and had no pool or restaurant. We also left AirPods in the room and asked for them back, but never heard anything. Bring warm clothes, as it gets cold after sunset and the restaurant has no indoor seating. Without a car, you can use Uber, but expect long waits.

The room was huge, and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was delicious too. There wasn't enough hot water, though, and the pool wasn't working.
