A great place for a few days away and some real rest. The service is amazing. My only issue is that if something needs altering, they should do it at a more convenient time.

At Villa Bejar hotel, I got trapped in the elevator for over 45 minutes. The bell and my calls to the front desk didn't work. Nobody came promptly until I started convulsing and banging and kicking on the door. A worker heard me and forced it open to get me out. They checked my pulse and blood pressure 25 minutes after I was freed. My blood pressure was 147, above normal. I asked for a beer to calm down, but they wouldn't give me one until I paid. In the end, I agreed to pay the captain and they gave me the beer. The captain wanted to give me a pill instead, but I refused because I didn't know if it was safe. I felt awful afterward, pale and shaking, like I might pass out. Later, other employees told me the elevator has trapped people before and that it happens frequently. The most recent case they mentioned was a woman.

The location and service were both great. I was pleasantly surprised by how professional the staff were, and by the quality of the food and the views.

We enjoyed our time with friends and the kids. The hotel is right by the lake, with easy access to water sports suppliers, and the rooms have lovely lake views. They're in decent condition, though the bathrooms could use renovation. The restaurant food is good and portions are generous, but it's very expensive for the experience. Staff are supportive, and the pool area is beautiful, but it and the rest of the amenities need a lot of maintenance. At the gym, most of the few available machines were broken or missing parts, yet use still costs 50 pesos, which surprised me. Some rooms in the spa building across from the pool look like they've been closed for decades. The elevator was the worst issue: it's broken, and staff said it had been out of service for a long time since the “rainy season,” which lasts for months in central Mexico. We stayed on the 4th floor and had to climb four floors to our room every day. Wifi is horrible except near the restaurant and bar. In short, the cheap nightly rates draw you in, then the restaurant is ultra expensive. Two nights at this 3 star hotel cost about the same as two nights at a 5 star all inclusive in Cabos or Cancun. If you're planning a few days in Teques, I'd look for a lakeside airbnb.

The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Service is very good, and they take Covid precautions seriously. Security checks every car that comes in, which helps you feel at ease. Most rooms have balconies, though we didn't use ours because of the heat, so make sure your air conditioning works. The rooms need repairs, though, and don't have the upscale feel they claim. The hotel overall is dated, but still considered one of the nicer options in the area. That's why I'm giving it three stars.
