City Express by Marriott Puebla Angelopolis

This is my second stay with this chain, after San Luis Potosí, and it confirms the quality they aim for across their hotels. The rooms are nice, though I understand renovations are underway. Breakfast is decent and parking is free. I like it here and will probably be back before the end of the month.

The complimentary breakfast was a fiasco: there was hardly any food, what was available was cold, and the eggs had chopped hot dogs in them, which seems like food for little kids. In the room, the shower curtain was too short, so water ended up all over the bathroom instead of draining from the shower. After a long trip, I sat in the chair to settle in and it broke under me, leaving me on the floor. The door's security latches were broken too, so I asked to move rooms. Once we had packed our things back into the bags, they did send someone to help us relocate, which we appreciated. When we first arrived, we told them the room's air conditioning wasn't working. Instead of offering a discount, they basically said we could go somewhere else if we didn't like it. Since we were a large group, we decided to stay anyway. Given how miserable the first day was, I hope people read this review and get warned not to stay here.

The meeting room was comfortable and clean, with plenty of coffee, bread, and tea. This place works really well for job meetings. The staff were welcoming from the start, and everyone involved provided great service, resolving things right away and with a smile.

The mall is an easy walk away, and there are convenient restaurants and a grocery store nearby. The staff are courteous and polite, and both the hotel and my room were clean. I’d definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.
