The little restaurant downstairs serves excellent coffee, which was a nice extra. The place itself is a special stay in Puebla’s historic center, in an 18th-century house with big rooms and some original furniture. It was renovated thoughtfully a few years ago, including the mezzanine bed in our room. The house has real charm.

Those coffee bean blends they sell are delicious, absolutely a 10/10 and easy to recommend. The cafeteria downstairs is pricey, though, and the food wasn’t that good. My room was spacious and fine, but the attention to detail was lacking. The towels were dirty and worn, enough to make me suspicious, and there was no shampoo or shower soap. I had to use the liquid hand soap to bathe.

I wanted the feel of an old house in the historic center, and that’s what I got. The staff were friendly, and the café-restaurant downstairs had a good breakfast for 130 pesos. The room was small, had no view, and barely any ventilation. They didn’t provide a bath mat, shampoo, or lotion. At least the street noise didn’t come through, the shower worked well, and the bed was very comfortable. There was also a fan and a good TV with Netflix. Everything was fine overall.
