Playa Boquilla is the standout for me: you can swim all day in calm, warm turquoise water, and the waves make for easy sleeping at night. The beach is the best on this stretch of coast. It’s a romantic, rustic spot for slowing down, though it won’t suit someone wanting air conditioning, all-inclusive service, or lots of activities. There’s a good range of rooms, from small ones to larger options with kitchens. Since most of your time is spent by the water, a comfortable bed and private shower are enough after a long swim. Food covers breakfast, snacks, lunch, and special dinners on the beach by torchlight. Turtles may come ashore to lay eggs, or hatch and make their way to the sea. The bar has a strong selection of local mezcal with different flavors. Staff take pride in looking after guests and try to meet their needs. Wi-Fi is good, which helps in this remote area where cell service is spotty.

We got married here in February 2025, and every guest was amazed by the paradise-like setting. Ada was especially wonderful. She pointed us to a local wedding planner, Dulce, and the hotel chef was fantastic too. Thanks to everyone on the hotel staff for making our day so special.

It’s extremely private, and we loved spending time under the shaded canopies as much as swimming and snorkeling. My son and I had a magical vacation here with friends, and the different accommodations make it a great place to gather a group. The cabanas are rustic but comfortable, with a real sense of experiencing Mexico. The food and drinks were great, and the staff worked hard to make our stay special.

The waiters were spectacular, always friendly and courteous. The cooks did a good job, though every day some fruit seemed to be missing. I was disappointed by the person handling reception, whose attention felt quite changeable. I think the place could be perfect if those small details that make visitors want to return were addressed. Thank you, and I hope Mr. Jorge can make some changes.

We came with friends and ended up staying put for the whole week because we were so content. The setting is relaxed and low key, with attentive, good service right by the beach. The drinks were delicious, and I’m still thinking about them and telling people back home. A great spot for a coast trip in Oaxaca.
