La Buena Vista

The view was great, but my stay at La Buena Vista was by far the worst travel experience I’ve ever had. The receptionist made us feel unwelcome as soon as we arrived. She was unfriendly, unhelpful, and downright rude. After checkout, she even chased us out of the common area. She also said something along the lines of, “You are not in Switzerland, you are in Mexico!” It felt like a threat. The facilities were filthy, dusty, and moldy. Clothes I put on a table came away with black stains. The blankets looked unwashed, or at best disgustingly dirty, and when we asked for a clean one, our request was flat-out refused. I ended up itchy, with skin irritation all over my body. I honestly don’t know if it was bedbugs or something else, but it was awful. Do yourself a favor and don’t stay here. This place is a huge mistake.

The room was dirty and full of mosquitoes, and the bathroom was even worse. Service was horrible, and the staff were the unfriendliest in all of Mexico. We were the only guests, but they still wouldn’t give us another blanket. After checkout, they chased us away from the public space too. Wouldn’t recommend.

An okay place to stay, with a great view of the ocean 🌊 and the landscape. I’d recommend it if you want to disconnect for a little while. The Wi-Fi comes and goes, if you’re lucky.

We had a really peaceful stay. The rooms were large and comfortable, with a lovely terrace where you can lie in the hammock and listen to the birds, and the pool was wonderful. It’s a classy, understated hotel that would probably get more attention and business in a different location. The town itself is less exciting, so it’s definitely for people who are happy staying within the hotel grounds. The staff were really nice and helped us with different things, including when we forgot our keys. And a shoutout to Canadian Mike. We didn’t get to say goodbye, but we were the British couple, and you rock, if you ever see this.
