Paraiso de los Angeles

Paraiso de los Ángeles was a highlight of our two-month trip. We loved the privacy and the outdoor areas, and often had the pool all to ourselves. Floating there with that huge ocean view was magical. We were lucky to spot a humpback whale and some dolphins, too. The house is beautifully designed and arranged, with a clear sense of tranquility, aesthetics, and functionality in every detail. The kitchen was one of the best-equipped we’ve ever used, and everything was spotless. We stayed four days and could easily have stayed longer. We arrived in a regular car after stocking up on groceries and drinks at Chedraui in Puerto Escondido. Then we just enjoyed settling into Hugo and Edvard’s beautiful vision and aesthetic. We’d absolutely return if we get the chance.

The whole property is awesome, an oasis where you can relax and find yourself. I’ve been lucky to stay in several rooms, and every one was spacious, full of charm, and had breathtaking views. It’s the most beautiful and amazing hotel I’ve ever been to. The owners, Edgar and Hugo, and all the staff are friendly and helpful. I hope to return to this paradise very soon.

Villa Rosa is the place from our trip that I’ll never forget. We stayed in five places, but nothing else compares. The road is very bumpy, and when we first set off I thought I’d made a mistake booking it. I was very wrong. Our bedroom had an unbelievable view, and we watched the sun rise and set to nothing but the sound of the ocean. You can’t hear or see anyone else, except people in boats. We were there in January, the weather was amazing, and every day we watched whales pass from our room or the pool. Taxis seemed easy enough to get, but we were happy driving our small car, which was fine. Zipolite was 10-15 minutes away, and Puerto Angel had a decent supermarket. I’d highly recommend getting tiger prawns from the fishmongers in the Port, so cheap and as fresh as you could get.

It’s quiet here, with few people around, since the apartment complex sits apart from other buildings. We enjoyed watching the waves, birds, and wildlife from the ocean-facing place. The apartment was well equipped, thoughtfully laid out over two floors, and the service was friendly and dependable. Puerto Angel is a lovely village for restaurants and a beach, though it’s quieter and less touristy. For surfing or more beach activity, you’ll need to drive to Zipolete or San Agustinillio. Getting to the apartment in our rental car was manageable, but the road is very steep and in poor condition.
