Bungalows Luz de Luna

A good-priced place for a longer stay, with hot water, AC, and fast Wi-Fi. There are nice terraces, and it's close to Zicatela mercado. Definitely recommend.

The apartment has a spacious terrace with beautiful sea views, and it stays cool at night. I don't like sleeping with the AC on, so I could leave the screened door open for a breeze. The place felt very safe. It's welcoming from the moment you arrive, with trees and plants all over the entrance patio that cool the air and give you good energy. Everything is close by, yet the area is so peaceful. One of my favorite places to return to!

I ended up leaving before the longer stay I'd discussed with the owner. I explained why and started looking for somewhere else after too many things had made me uncomfortable. She agreed to return part of my deposit, which I really appreciated. But when it was time to go, she seemed angry and made sarcastic comments and gestures about my reasons, as if I were making them up. I'd attached photos of the problems, including several of the cockroaches. She also accused me of tricking her by agreeing to stay for months and then leaving after a few weeks. That couldn't have been further from the truth. I brought my blind cat, and her well-being was always my priority. The owner had been attentive when issues came up, and even fumigated, but cockroaches kept appearing from the bathroom. I was cleaning the whole bungalow up to twice a week and still couldn't live there anymore. Before that, I'd found the bathroom sink clogged as soon as I arrived, and it never smelled good, no matter how much I cleaned or used air freshener. I think it was the pipes. The coffee maker and blender also needed a thorough clean before I could use them, and cockroaches came out of the coffee maker. They were tiny and unlike the ones back home, so at first I didn't even realize what they were. There was also a loose cat, apparently the neighbor's, that came by in the early mornings, bothered my cat, and hissed at her. It left poop all over the terrace, which smelled awful. The bungalows themselves are so cute, with huge terraces, and it's peaceful enough to hear the sea. I hadn't planned to write a review, but I left with a really bad feeling. I even helped show the bungalow to someone else while I was still living there, so the owner could find another cat quickly and not lose out because I was leaving.

The host made a real difference, always attentive and friendly, with great suggestions for enjoying the area. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. The bungalows were quiet, clean, and comfortable, just right for relaxing and getting away from stress. Each had what we needed, including a good bed, AC, hot water, and a usable kitchen. It's only a few minutes from the beach, with local shops and restaurants easy to reach. We'd happily do it again and recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort, security, and a warm welcome.
