I can’t recommend staying here. For $62 a night, it felt like a rip-off. I’d planned to stay a month but left after two nights because it was loud, there wasn’t drinking water as advertised, and I found ants in my bed. I’d already paid 2,500 pesos ($125 USD), and we had no contract saying I had to stay for a month. When I said I wanted to leave after two nights, the guy working there said he’d kick me out within 30 minutes because I wouldn’t stay the whole month, which would have cost 10,000 pesos. He walked away while I was talking to him and was rude. Completely unprofessional and incompetent behavior.

The worst part was the noise. Two clubs on either side of the room played extremely loud music until 5 or 6 in the morning, and I barely slept during my stay. There was no AC or hot water, bugs in the room and shower, and the pillows were old with uncomfortable beds.

The view is nice, and the beach is only three blocks away. The workers are really polite, but there’s no hot water. It’s okay.

A good place to stay for a while in zicatela, meet cool locals and travelers from abroad, and just crash.
