Hotel Camino Del Sol

The room was really loud because of the traffic, and I needed earplugs to fall asleep. The pool was so hot it felt like broth, and the sheets had a few stains. The AC and shower both worked well, and the staff were nice. Some requests, like extra pillows, can only be handled in the morning. The Wi-Fi was incredibly slow, basically terrible. It’s exactly a three-star place.

The cafe usually runs from 7 -1, except on Tuesdays. Sylvia at the front desk was a big help, and Andres tends the afternoon bar, where you should try his margaritas. We stayed 10 days to be between the Mercado and the Playas. The pool is fantastic, gets sun most of the day, and has plenty of space, deck chairs, beds, hammocks, and a huge palapa. There are outlets all around for charging devices. Rooms at the front can be noisy because of highway 200, but when I asked to switch, they sorted it out quickly.

We stayed for a week and were very well looked after. The rooms are large, the pool is lovely, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I’d highly recommend the hotel and would stay again.

For about 500 pesos a night, we felt the price was fair. The air conditioner and Wi-Fi both worked, and the noise didn’t bother us, even though you could hear everything when families got up early. The shower head needs a proper clean and scrub, though. It seems like the water flow could be improved with a simple fix instead of buying a new one.
