Casa Baba

Misha was an outstanding host, friendly, responsive and full of great food and activity suggestions. We also enjoyed the pool and day beds in the afternoon, plus the communal kitchen and dining area was a nice bonus. The modern rooms were spacious and well appointed. Casa Baba is a superbly renovated small complex, private and secure but only 100m from the main action and beach. A perfect base for our nine nights in La Punta. I recommend booking direct.

We found the stay really disappointing, and I’m confused by all the glowing reviews. The space was noticeably dirtier than the photos suggested, the locks were hard to use, and the pool area was messy. The AC was out every night. We understand that may have been beyond the hotel’s control, but staff offered no help or solutions when we asked for a fan to deal with the heat. We got no response. A rooster in the building next door started crowing around 4 a.m. every morning, which made sleeping in impossible. That’s not the hotel’s fault, but I wish we’d been warned. The team offered a refund for one night because of the problems. I had to follow up three times, and they eventually refunded only a fraction. There are plenty of other options nearby, and I’d choose somewhere else. Maybe it was great when it first opened, but it needs maintenance and better guest support.

My friend and I were in a tight spot and needed a place quickly. Misha responded right away and was very helpful, so we could get there and check in immediately. It’s a beautiful spot, with a great pool and kitchen area, well-equipped rooms, and the beach very close by.

A lovely guest house in La Punta. The hosts are friendly and know the area well, the pool is great in the heat, and the internet worked well for our video calls. The cute rooms come with beach and shower towels. It’s three blocks from the main street and beach, far enough away that you don’t hear much but still close to everything. Highly recommend.
