Casa Xaviera was an easy, enjoyable stay. The owner was quick and helpful whenever I needed to get in touch. The place is stylish and just minutes from the beach and restaurants. I’d happily stay here again.

The reliable WiFi was a big help on the days I was working and doing video sessions. Eduardo was flexible, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay. Casa Xaviera is modern, beautifully designed, and comfortable, and its location made it easy to explore Puerto Escondido La Punta. We had a great time and would definitely come back.

Eduardo deserves a big thank you. He was always around and made sure all our wishes were taken care of. The room was beautiful, with lovely design throughout, a high-quality mattress and bedding, a well-equipped kitchen, and a gorgeous bathroom.

I worked remotely for much of my two weeks at Casa Xaviera, and the WiFi was dependable except for one afternoon when it went down briefly and returned a few hours later. Eduardo was responsive and helpful, and I appreciated having a kitchenette stocked with cooking basics. I cooked a few meals, though you’ll need to bring your own salt, pepper, and other condiments. There’s also a coffee machine, but no beans or grounds were provided. The location was a real plus: about a three-minute walk to the beach and main streets. I walked about 15 minutes to the main highway and saw how steep and uneven the roads can be elsewhere, which made this spot feel especially convenient. The room was spacious, with a large bed, a nice shower, and a minimal, organic design. A few small things could be better. The floor gets dusty, so house slippers might be useful, and the bed linens had some stains when I arrived. Mobile signal was weak, though that may be a Puerto Escondido issue. The walls are thin enough that you can hear neighbors, and nearby construction can get loud in the mornings. These felt like minor inconveniences, but sorting them out would make this an easy five-star stay.

We left early and had Booking.com arrange a refund for the unused nights because we didn’t feel comfortable staying. In my view, the people managing this property are amateurs. I work in hospitality, and if I were an investor, I’d be furious to see how the properties are kept and run. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. There are better options at the same price. The trouble started after booking through Booking.com. First came a form for every person staying with us, then a string of very long messages with some wrong information. When we arrived, we followed the latest instructions and called the number they gave us. We tried WhatsApp too, but got no answer and were left waiting outside until someone from Booking.com responded. Once inside, it took only a few minutes to see how dirty the place was. The bathroom had hair on the walls, floor, by the sink, and in the toothbrush glass. The sofa was badly stained, the outdoor lounge area had hair and sand, the outdoor table was broken, and there was food on the kitchen chairs. We had no beach or pool towels, and later found that some bed linens and pillowcases were missing. We reported all of this right away, but nothing was done. We had to get our own beach towels, and no cleaning was arranged. After a day out, we returned to find there was no water. We waited for someone to fix it. The man they sent was very vulgar, didn’t say hello or goodbye, and came and went like a thief. The long messages had already made the booking process frustrating, but the problems continued after arrival. I came to Puerto Escondido to relax, not to read all that, especially when it contained errors. The stay was a nightmare, and I would not stay or invest here.
