The harbour view is stunning, and the rooms and living room look just like the photos. We had no major problems overall, and the owner seemed friendly, though communication was limited because they don’t speak English. Still, the stay felt less comfortable than it could have, especially because of the checkout issue and some maintenance concerns. Only two units are for guests, while the owner lives in the rest of the property. There isn’t a shared area beyond the corridor outside the units, so it has more of a homestay feel. Cleanliness could be better: cups and plates in the kitchen still had stained shop stickers, and there were marks in the bathroom. Our Hotels.com booking said checkout was at 12 p.m., but on site we were told 11 a.m. We paid another 800 pesos to stay until 1:40 p.m., which seemed unreasonable since we were the only guests then. The area also felt a little isolated at night, with stray dogs around and dim lighting on the steps to the entrance. Carrying bags up those steep steps was awkward. It may suit people who care most about the view and don’t mind a homestay setup, but it didn’t feel especially guest-focused.
