Hotel Careyes Puerto Escondido

It's in a great spot for getting to the beach, though don't let anyone persuade you to walk to the beach or the rinconado, it's not an easy route. The rooms are a good size and the female receptionist was kind and professional. For the price, I thought the hotel was nice. The downsides were traffic noise in the first-floor rooms and very small restrooms and showers.

My Aunt recommended this place, and we had such a pleasant vacation. It was quiet and relaxing, with polite service, fair prices, and a very clean feel. Everything was close by. Oaxaca Rocks!!

The staff, especially at the front desk, were attentive, kind, and helpful, so I’d happily stay here again. It’s in a great location, about a 10-15 minute walk from most beaches and some very good restaurants. The place was clean and comfortable, and they were very accommodating. I can’t say enough!

The hangout spots made it easy to relax or get some work done, from the table just outside our room to the couches and bar tables upstairs, the pool area downstairs, and the lobby. We stayed four nights in Tiburon on the third floor. The room was clean and fairly bright, and we found the firm beds comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful, and Playa Manzanillo and Puerto Angelito were about a 10 minute walk away. There are good places to eat nearby, plus Cocos Frios at the corner for a fresh cold coconut. Sometimes a woman sells tasty tacos de canasta out front too. A few things could be better: there’s no closet, hooks, or drawers, so we kept our clothes in our suitcases. The water pressure was low, though there was hot water and it wasn’t a big problem for our four nights. The wifi was spotty, but that seems to be true around Puerto Escondido. We enjoyed the stay and would come back.
