Casa Manglar has a small number of rooms and feels like a quaint, very modern bed and breakfast. Service was five-star and the design gives the place a calm, spa-like feel, without any pretense. There's a very clean indoor pool with beautifully clear water for a dip. The hotel is on a very flat dirt road, a few feet from the main road into Puerto Escondido Centro, about 3 miles away. Getting to the nearest beach takes a good walk, though. Next time I'd rent a car or moped to rely less on taxis. There are plenty of places in town to rent one. My stay was brief, but I highly recommend it.

The hotel and pool were lovely, and the rooms were spacious and clean. I'd highly recommend staying here. A few things to know: the front desk isn't open 24/7, so you need to arrive during check-in hours if you need help. Our shower sprayed over the glass onto the toilet, leaving the toilet paper and wall wet, though that was probably just our room. The mini fridge with a pitcher of water didn't get cold; its lowest setting was 8C, or around 46F. And for the girls, the only shower head is the rainfall type.

I spent a month living at Manglar while getting settled in Puerto Escondido. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and I looked forward to the shared patio and pool each day, along with fruit, toast, and morning coffee. I work remotely, and their Starlink has fibre as backup in case of blackouts. Most of all, the Manglar team are incredibly kind and helpful, and they really care about your experience.

We loved the quiet, cozy feel here. It's small, cool, and just as good as other hotels, with friendly staff. It has Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a fan, a small pool, a small refrigerator, TV, parking, and a simple breakfast of fruit, coffee, and bread. The manager was attentive and handled a noisy couple with calm and quiet as her priority. This place, like most accommodation in Puerto Escondido, is for relaxing and unwinding. The locals appreciate it when guests don't cause disturbances, so if you want noise and commotion, this place and Puerto Escondido in general may not suit you. It's a bit far from the center, so bring a car or rent a ride. We'd definitely return.

When I return, I'll definitely stay here again. Manglar looks just as spectacular as it does in the website and social media photos, and it's close enough to Puerto Escondido's main tourist spots while still being quiet enough for a good night's rest. They reached out the day before to explain how to arrive. Since I was coming late, they gave me detailed directions and explained how to get in. Mónica greeted us that night with real kindness and helpfulness, and let us check in the next day so we could rest. The pool was always clean and pleasantly warm. Breakfast each morning was simple, just toast with butter and/or jam, coffee or tea with a choice of tea, and seasonal fruit. It helped tide us over until we went elsewhere for breakfast. At the end of our stay, I couldn't hold back tears while thanking everyone for their service and the wonderful friendship we shared. Everyone there helps make this hotel such a marvelous place.
