Hotel Yurimar

The owner and staff were wonderful. They helped us with all sorts of questions and problems, and made us feel well looked after. We stayed almost three weeks and had a great time. The room was just the right size for us and was cleaned every day. It did get hot during the day, and the main street was noisy, but we could manage both.

I really liked my four days here. The room was simple, with two double beds, a fridge, TV, ceiling fan, and its own shower, toilet, and sink. All the windows had mosquito screens. It was clean, quiet, and well located, and the staff were especially friendly and helpful. The service was excellent, and the price was reasonable for what you get.

We ended up staying three nights instead of one after seeing the room and terrace. The beds were comfortable, and although the room was basic and a little worn, it felt like good value. I was worried about the heat without air conditioning, but the ceiling fan kept us cool all night. The only real drawback for us was patchy Wi-Fi in the room. The terrace was a highlight, with hammocks, plenty of chairs and tables, outlets, and good Wi-Fi. It was a lovely place to work or watch the sunset. The hotel is a three minute walk from the beach, and a further walk of about eight minutes gets you to some good restaurants and cafes down Playa Zicatela. There’s also a very handy little shop beside reception. A laundry called lavenderia Yurimar is right by the hotel too. They washed a large tote bag of clothes in five hours for 50 pesos. The owners were very attentive and friendly. Even though the hotel is by the freeway, the noise didn’t bother us. At 20€ a night for a room with two double beds, the price for this location is hard to beat. Yurimar was a very pleasant surprise, and I’d happily stay again.

The owner’s family made us feel welcome, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a great time here. The location is really good, and it’s great value for the money. There’s a private kitchen, some rooms have a fridge, and they have lots of mangoes and a pool too! ☺️
