The water was so clear at this great swimming and snorkeling beach that it looked as if the bottom was close, but it was actually several feet down. Some nice restaurants had chairs and umbrellas. We only bought a couple of juices, and they let us stay for hours.

It was crowded when we visited over a holiday weekend. This is a nice spot for swimming and snorkeling, and you can rent a lounge under an umbrella by paying upfront, which then goes toward your food order.

You can walk here from the Playa Principal area of P. Escondido through a lovely neighborhood. The stairs down to this beach are less steep than the ones at Playa Carrizalillo, and the swimming and snorkeling are decent. The soft sand gets rocky as soon as you enter the water, which can hurt tender feet a bit. Beachside restaurants serve the many lounge chairs under umbrellas.

Posada Playa Manzanillo is family-run, and the owners are so kind and helpful. The rooms are very clean, and the pool is lovely on a hot day. I've stayed twice and would happily come back.

We went on a Thursday, and it wasn't too crowded. The water was really calm and clear, and the rocks nearby are beautiful. There isn't much hassle from vendors. I'd definitely recommend it, grab a beach bed from one of the restaurants among the palm trees and relax.
