We come back every year, heading north for our summer vacation and south again when it's time to return to work. It's a tranquil, beautiful setting, dog friendly, with a restaurant on site. Service has always been excellent.

In September 2023, I stayed one night and left the next day, leaving my camera and spare battery in the room. I called to ask about them, but nobody returned them. I called more than four times and even offered a reward, but got nothing. I don't recommend staying here. They stole my camera. I'm repeating this review because I saw a bad review from the beginning of the year, five months ago, saying hotel staff kept stealing. Those guests said money was stolen from them too. Thief hotel.

We had a basically nice stay, and I would gladly give the hotel four stars if it weren't for the theft. We hid our cash carefully in our bags, but someone must have deliberately gone through our suitcases. We told the hotel as soon as we noticed. They blamed us for not reporting it directly to reception and said no staff had been in our room for service. The first part is true: we only noticed the money was missing on the evening we left. But the claim about room service is a lie. Someone had been in the room. I'm sorry to leave this kind of review, but I feel I have to warn other travelers. Theft!

The beds could be better quality, but the staff work hard for you. They've also made real improvements to the property over the last couple of years.
