When a woman was robbed in the lobby as we checked in, the staff brushed it off like it was no big deal. That set a bad tone for our stay, which was unpleasant all around. The rooms are dark and dingy, with worn furniture and not a single lamp. The front door is literally an aluminum storm door, so security didn’t feel very good. There was black mold on the bathroom walls and ceiling, and the shower was dirty and moldy. The toilet rocked like a teeter-totter and barely flushed most days. The living area had a dead palm in the corner, the potted plant on the patio was dead, and there was only one chair at the outdoor table. A fresh coat of paint would help, and maybe the place could be nice if someone invested in it. As it is, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We lasted ten minutes before leaving. The room was so filthy, it was the nastiest place I’ve ever stayed. There were holes in the walls and an electrical outlet hanging out. The sheets were yellow with stains and covered in pubic hairs. The bathroom window was busted, and the bathroom itself was full of flies and smelled awful. I’ve stayed in hostels all over the world, and this was far worse. We asked for our money back or to be moved somewhere else, but they wouldn’t do either, so we left and found a better place down the road, losing what we’d paid. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.

The place was super clean, comfortable and affordable, with amazing A/C, perfect hot water and no pests. The staff were awesome. The shower was the problem. It couldn’t be adjusted, so water sprayed down all at once and you couldn’t control where it went. The drain also backed up, leaving you standing in a pool.
