The room was a little dated, and the shower flow wasn’t good, but I’d still recommend this cute hotel. It’s about ten minutes on foot to the center of Puerto Morelos, or just a few minutes by car. The room is well equipped, the staff are courteous and helpful, and the price seemed quite fair. They also provide beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels at no extra charge.

The reception staff were amazing, and the rooms were spacious and clean. The rooftop pool looked nice, but we didn’t use it because we went to the beach. It’s a great place to stay, with one of the few spots on the peninsula where you can reach a public beach. The town has lots of restaurants and bars, and plenty of Americans.

We booked an apartment and got upgraded to the penthouse, which we really needed after a month in the jungle. The beds were super cozy, and they provided great linens and towels. The shower had excellent pressure and stayed hot. There’s an elevator and a cute pool area with a wonderful sunset view. They offer light housekeeping at no extra charge, and Mitchel at reception was a pleasure to be around, such a sweetie. We liked the place so much I told a friend to book another apartment here. I’d stay again and highly recommend it.

The fridge was so noisy that we had to unplug it to sleep, and one door was broken, so we couldn’t open the window or door and the room got stuffy. Everything in Unit 2 felt cheaply installed. We paid $100 a night for this fairly new hotel, and it didn’t feel worth it. Maybe other units are in better shape, but I wouldn’t recommend this one. It also lacked basics: no towel rack for bath towels, no cloth hangers, and no dish soap in the kitchen. The toilet paper rolls were left on top of the toilet cover.

Room 1 must be the worst in the building, on the ground floor facing the street, but it worked out fine for us. We booked it at the last minute through Airbnb, where it’s listed as Condohotel or something like that. With the blinds open there was no view or privacy. It was clean and quiet, apart from a few nights of thumping music from the southeast. An even-numbered room facing east might be better. The little kitchen was fine for breakfast and lunch, with a fridge, one hotplate, toaster, coffee maker, cutting board, and knives. I think the very nice guys working there would give you anything else you need if you ask. The location is great, five minutes on foot to the beach and a pleasant ten- or fifteen-minute stroll to restaurants and the grocery store. There’s also a cute rooftop pool. If you’re there to enjoy Mexico and don’t need a resort, you’ll be quite happy.
