Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya

Our room was great, with a lovely balcony, and the room service was exceptional. We highly recommend this place for an adults-only stay. Dafne took care of everything, from arranging a cabana and helping with dinner reservations to checking in each day to see how our stay was going. Rodolfo, the steakhouse bartender, made amazing lemon drops. Ask for one with tequila. We spent more than one night at the bar with him. He's funny and gracious, and made our stay amazing.

We booked just four days ahead after our Cuba trip was cancelled, and had a very relaxing stay. We gave the resort four stars for its great service, beautiful décor, and spotless grounds. The staff were a highlight. Our concierge, Abel, showed us around and arranged dinner reservations and an Isla Mujeres catamaran trip, which was the best part. Noel at the Boathouse and License to Chill was incredibly fast and always smiling. Ana Eli kept our room pristine and stocked with water. The Landshark Brewery is a big plus at an all-inclusive. The tour was great, and Pirate’s Tide was my favorite brew. Denis, Angel, and the rest of the entertainment team kept the energy up, and the pool shows were hilarious and entertaining. There isn't a beach to speak of, so don't expect walks on the sand or a place to sit on it. The pools were very cold until late afternoon. There was no real towel system, and we saw people hoarding three to five towels while others had none. The dinner buffet was just okay. With only two a-la-carte restaurants, reservations were hard to get unless you were a 'Preferred' member. For the next morning, pick up fresh towels at the end of the day. For a hidden gem, try to get one of the eight seats at Frank and Lola’s and watch Eddy make wood-fired pizza. No reservations are needed. You stock your own mini-bar from the coffee shop, so go mid-day to avoid the morning rush.

We had an oceanfront suite with terrific views of the sunrise each morning, and spent nine days in extraordinary relaxation at this beautiful resort. The service was great throughout, but our butlers Isaac and Armando made it top notch. They met our every need, arranged nightly dinner reservations, and made sure we had pool chairs and Bali beds perfectly placed. We couldn't have asked for more attentive butlers. A shout-out as well to Sergio Gonzalez, who served our drinks poolside every day, and Mariel, our favorite person on the entertainment team. Until next time! Gracias!

We came back to the UK after an 11-night stay, from 23/01-03/02/2026. The hotel was fine, the room was well serviced, and cleanliness was excellent. Staff were really friendly and looked after us. An enjoyable holiday. Dafne, one of the Island Ambassadors, deserves a special mention. My wife is allergic to fish, and the hotel was very slack about allergy labels at the Boathouse Restaurant. Raw fish was on the same tray as raw red meat and raw chicken, with the items stacked touching, and fish and meat were cooked together on the same grill. Dafne resolved the issue and was delightful and helpful. Eric, a waiter at the Boathouse and Chill Out restaurants, was also wonderful, helpful, and attentive. The bartenders at Salty Rim bar were friendly and very knowledgeable mixologists.
