I paid 1200 CAD for four nights and got a terrible room. The view was only all right: I booked oceanfront and got a corner balcony where I could see the ocean. The place is noisy because the old doors barely block sound. The lights were so dim I could hardly see at night, and the bathroom was awful, with weak sink pressure and a toilet that clogged after just a few rolls of paper. There was no fridge, phone, coffee maker, table, or safe. Staff helped some guests with their luggage but didn’t help me. This was one of my worst experiences and felt like a total rip-off. I don’t know what I was thinking when I booked, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

I’m not sure I’d stay here again. It’s okay overall, but the building seems due for a full renovation soon. The rooftop staff were the standout, and the daily entertainment was really fun. The team was friendly, engaging, and funny, which added a lot to the stay.

We might come back. The manager took our complaint seriously and followed up diligently, including putting a feedback QR code at reception. The issue was with the beach staff, who were pushier and more aggressive. They pressured us to order more even though we’d already spent double the minimum, and one called a member of our group the B word when he didn’t give in. We raised it with management, who said they knew about complaints involving the beach staff and would address them. The staff generally were friendly, but sometimes made it obvious they saw guests as a cash cow. The location is right on the beach, with a nice pool and a rooftop bar overlooking the ocean. Rooms are spacious but dated. The mattress had seen better days, the pillows were lumpy and hard, and the shower had good pressure but the setup, including the sink and mirror, felt DIY. The beach location and pool were great, but the service left us uncertain about returning.

During Bear Week at a gay beach, the service at Blue Chairs felt like they were taking advantage of their main customers. I paid a 500 peso cover and 250 peso for a towel, then sat for over an hour without service. My server said, “well you’re alone and you’re not ordering alcohol, so what’s the point?” I’m a sober solo traveler and usually tip 100%, so that was his loss. It was truly disgusting. I was there for an event and needed to pick up my pass. The front desk woman refused to help, saying in perfect English, “I don’t speak English,” even though I was speaking Spanish and hadn’t asked her to use English. Other people were asking the same thing, and there were event posters everywhere, but staff acted like we were all insane. I don’t understand why they seem to hate tourists when tourists are how they have jobs. I’ve visited PV many times, and this was my first time at Blue Chairs. Go to Ritmos next door instead. The food is meh, but the servers pay attention and don’t act like they hate you.

The location is amazing, but that’s the only highlight, and I wouldn’t stay again. For the price of this so-called “resort,” it’s not worth it. The website is misleading, and while the rooms are spacious, they lack basic amenities. Check-in was chaotic, and staff didn’t even give us room keys. There’s one tiny elevator for nine floors, so expect to take the stairs often. The stairwells and hallways are poorly lit both day and night, which feels inconvenient and unsafe. Our room had no Do Not Disturb sign, telephone, or property directory, so we walked down five flights just to ask basic questions. The WiFi was extremely spotty. The bathroom door only opens halfway because it hits the vanity, and the shower swings from scalding to ice cold every time.
